Brand & Branding

Brand & Branding

Are you a loyal brand advocate?

We all are to some degree.
Are you drawn to a specific designer label when you are looking for the next power suit or jeans?

Do you prefer one beer over another? Some of my friends would rather not have a drink at all if they can’t get their preferred brand.

Golfers are notoriously loyal to their brand. Ask a player who plays with Calloway clubs to try your new TaylorMade driver and see the sour look you get from them.

Why do you think that is?
As you will see…It’s all about branding.

Why should we talk about Branding? What is all the buzz? Everyone talks about it… but do they know what it means and why?

Brand and Branding are two words that became very trendy even though many people don’t know what each means and use them interchangeably.

Over the years we have had many clients reach out to us asking …. we think we need to rebrand… can you design a new logo for us?
The answer is yes and no. From a position of a technician (graphic designer) absolutely we can! From the perspective of a branding specialist and a marketer, the answer is more complicated. But simply said, a logo is only one element of your brand identity and any branding specialist worth their salt will NOT give your business a new logo without assessing your business and implementing a strategy that will carry your messaging with purpose, and elevate your brand.
So what is the difference…

In the simplest terms…

You have a business, you have a product / service… you have a BRAND.

Most established businesses already know they have a brand. And for the rest of them… they DO have brand, they just don’t know it.

BRANDING is the process involved in creating a strong subconscious “gut feeling” in the minds of your customers, which will make your brand their choice.

Many think that the branding process is one and done…. Not so… branding and it’s strategy is an on-going process same as business strategy and marketing strategy.

Remember, branding has to do with everything you do in your business. Everything you do reflects back to your company and its vision. So be careful next time you want to make a post on FB of a company party where you had a bit too much to drink. Your clients may see that. And it may alter their perception of your brand. But don’t forget it’s not just about you… it’s about everyone in your business. They all represent the brand, and it MUST be with the vision of the company in mind.

How do you represent the vision of your brand?
